With all the classes of the doctoral program completed in the two first semesters, the third and final of its curricular component is dedicated to the preparation of the thesis plan that, after defended and approved, entitles the researcher officially as a doctorate degree candidate, linked to the respective research center.
A fundamental challenge that is currently being addressed is the definition of the criteria for the participants’ selection in the proposed study. Given the declared intention to include a broad sample of household potential for providing remote learning opportunities, more than just selecting households by a socioeconomic status indicator it is considered critical to find an index that includes other variables that regard geographic, human and spatial potential.
Since none has been found to date, the development and evaluation of such an index – named OutLearn Score – has been set as an objective.
